Chetan Desai
District Governor 2024-25
Vibrant DG Chetan Desai is a Mechanical Engineer turned IT Entrepreneur and Director of Vibrant Etechnologies Private Limited, a high-end networking and software consultancy firm with offices in India, USA and UK.
As a member of RC Borivli since 2003-04, he was awarded best new Rotarian in his first year.
During his presidency in 2008-09, he received more than 18 awards from RI and District, including Excellent President award, Best international service project, Most Unusual Project and Best Cooperative project of "KANHERI FESTIVAL".
As District’s Rotary youth Exchange Avenue Chair, he achieved 100% growth in Long Term Exchange Program, 100% Growth in STEP and NGEP Program, and made District 3140 the no.1 district in India in terms of sending maximum nos. of Long Term Exchange students.
He has a rare distinction of being appointed as one of the five member Findings committee by Rotary International at the Youth Exchange Pre-convention meet in Bangkok in 2012.
He has received several awards for his work in Rotary, including Rotary International's Prestigious "Club Builder" Award, Rotary International’s “Avenues of Services” award, and District Service Award for his work in Rotary Foundation, thrice.
He has completed both levels of leadership training at Rotary Institute of Leadership and is a certified Training Leader from Rotary Institute of Leadership.
He has handled multiple roles and responsibilities in Rotary, such as Assistant Governor, Membership Avenue Chair, Training Facilitator & TRF Avenue Co Chair, Assistant Trainer and District Conference Co-Chair, Avenue Chair for a very important TRF Avenue, Principle Aide – TRF, and District Project Director for Annapoorna Project and Avenue Chair for Baghbaan.

Assistant Governor: Awarded as Diamond AG in 2013-14 for his efforts in inspiring Club Presidents to contribute to TRF. One of the Clubs under his supervision, RC Mumbai Lakers was recognized as the most Vibrant Club in the entire Rotary World.
Membership Avenue Chair: introducing RISE (Rotary Inducts for Service & Excellence) concept with unique point system as a Membership Chair, adding 1541 new members in RY 2014-15. Formed 11 new clubs with average size of 40 Members.
District Secretary Communication: Because of his herculean efforts 110 out of 140 clubs got RI Presidential Citation, highest in the Rotary world in RY 2015-16.
Chief Group Avenue Head for Community Service: RID 3141 created Guinness Book of world record under his leadership for Rotary Humsafar, Drive to spread awareness of Eye, Organ, Skin donation and Diabetes prevention.
District Project Director for Annapoorna and Baghbaan: He and his team were responsible in providing 2.1 million meals and 17512 ration kits to underprivileged community in 2020-21 during Covid Period. Tie up with Shankar Mahadevan Academy to entertain the elderly of RID 3141 was a mega success.
TRF Avenue Chair: He and his team collected 4 million USD, highest ever for District 3141 till 2021-22.
He is a Major donor and Paul Harris Society member, and has received Gold Pin for Membership from RI for introducing more than 10 members to Rotary.
He gave generous donation to Rotary Club of Borivli Charitable Trust along with his brother Rtn. Mayank to associate his mother name to club's flagship eye bank project.
He is the founder member and director of an affiliate of International Council for Small Business in India along with management guru Professor YK Bhusan.
Happily Married to Jwala who he considers as his pillar of strength...Elder Son Krish has completed Btech in Computer Engineering and now pursing Masters in finance from UIUC, USA. Younger son Yash completed his 10th and is on Rotary Youth Exchange to Brazil.
